My passion has always been teaching. I started out as a paraprofessional at Brighton School District. I attended University of Colorado-Boulder where I earned my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a K-12 ESL Endorsement and Grand Canyon University with a Master’s Degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). Before pursuing a teaching career, I also have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. I started my teaching career at Adams12 School District in 2004, taught 7 years at Thornton Middle School, and currently at Malley Drive Elementary School. This is my 10th year teaching at Malley.
I became a teacher simply because I want to make a difference. I feel that education is the one I can have the greatest impact on a child’s life. I want to be a mentor and a role model for my students from varied cultures and backgrounds. I want to show them that working hard, putting the best effort in everything that we do, and never give up can take us to greatest heights of success in life! I am looking forward to a wonderful year of challenges as well as successes in the classroom. As one of the ESL teachers at Malley Drive Elementary, I aspire to make learning meaningful to any child that enters my classroom.
I have three biological kids and one stepdaughter. When I am not teaching, I love going to the movies, dancing, reading, singing, hiking, and camping. I love to travel and has been in a lot of countries to experience different cultures.
Parents, you are a part of the team in educating your child. Please feel free to come talk to us about your child's progress in ESL. I thank you for all the support at home with your kids. Together we can make a difference!
Thank you wholeheartedly!
