My name is Myndee Malone and I am one of the new learning specialists (special education teacher). I am a native of Colorado and at this time have no desire to live anywhere else. I love the outdoors, sports, hanging with my family, and just being constantly active. I got married in 2017 and currently have one handsome little puppy named Granby. My husband and I love to travel to different mountain towns in and out of Colorado (hence our dog's name being named after our favorite mountain town).
My background in regards to education is I got my bachelor's degree at Fort Lewis College in Exercise Science where I played collegiate softball. I then moved into the education world and got my masters at Metropolitan State University in special education-generalist. This year is my first year at Malley Drive Elementary as well as my first year in the district. Being a new teacher is exciting and I know it's going to be extremely rewarding. I love to be constantly learning and am excited for this journey.
The reason I got into special education is the passion and the love I have for kids, especially the ones who have some struggles academically speaking. My main goal is to change their perspective on learning; making a frustrating experience into a fun one instead. My secondary goal is to make sure all of the kiddos that I see in groups and in general at the school feel like they are LOVED, can be KIND, and are IMPORTANT!
